Happy (Belated) Arbor Day

Walker and I stopped by Home Depot yesterday to get the paint for our bathroom and noticed they were having an Arbor Day sale on some fun purple trees.  So we walked out of there with the paint and this $13 tree!

It is a Krauter Vesuvius Purple-leaf Plum tree that blooms in spring with light pink flowers!  And this is how we got it home…Needless to say, we got some pretty strange looks.  I had to drive slowly and everyone hated me.  But we got our tree home in one piece and Walker planted it in front of the bathroom window so hopefully it will give us some privacy (and also block the view of the side neighbor’s hideous new satellite dish).
